30 Days to List - Days 5, 6 and 7!

Day 5: Tackle the bathrooms. It's time to organize and declutter everything in the bathrooms from the top of the sink, to the medicine cabinet and any drawers in between! Toss that 1/4 full bottle of face lotion you no longer use and get rid of that hair product you are holding onto just in case! Donate the curling iron that hasn't seen the light of day since you had kids and ditch the mascara that is older than your youngest kiddo!

Give your bathroom a good scrubbing, and do not forget the grout, it makes a HUGE difference! Invest in some new white fluffy towels (grey is good too) from Costco and stop by Homegoods for some simple new accessories. Do not forget the toilet seat, if it is cracked, stained, broken etc. replace that too, I always grab mine from Home Depot . If your space is small, choose a bright or white shower curtain to make it seem larger.
🚿
My personal recommendation, opt for all white! Bathrooms are made for cleaning, so make the space feel clean! Don’t forget to tag me if you follow any of my tips!

Day 6: Spruce up the kitchen. This is definitely not the room to skip! Kitchens and baths truly do sell homes. Remove all of your coffee pots, Instant Pots and spice racks from the counters - you want this surface to be as clear as possible. Clean inside all of your cabinets and get rid of any additional clutter here too. 5 different kinds of dishes? Pair it down to one and try to style the inside of your cabinets as much as possible. Remove everything from the outside and inside of your fridge. That includes the random tube of anchovy paste from the recipe that called for it a few years ago!

🐟
If you have a particularly nice fridge, consider staging the inside. Turn on your self cleaning oven (on a day you can open the windows) and scrub it down when it finishes the cycle, people will look inside of it!

Finally, grab some fresh flowers (or add a beautiful bowl with some fresh fruit) from the farmers market or Trader Joe’s, if you don’t know how to arrange keep it simple with similar colors or all the same flower!

Day 7: Next up: the bedrooms. The bedrooms should be inviting, and that means more cleaning and decluttering and possibly investing in a few props. If you don’t already have one, invest in a white or neutral-colored duvet cover (duvets can cover the oldest most beat up comforter and are much more affordable than a new comforter) and some new fancy pillows or pillow covers. Straighten your bedside tables and try to keep the 3 item rule in play here. Declutter the top of dressers and do not forget to majorly clean out your closet (hello Trends Oak Park) and organize the rest. Consider investing in an area rug to warm up your space, especially if you have hard wood floors. Even a small rug in the right space will add to the warmth. Keep the furniture to a minimum, especially if your bedrooms are on the small side. As you can see from my picture below, you really can never go wrong with white, it presents a clean, fresh and simple space, perfect for envisioning your own personal items in the space!
